OUTDOOR ADVENTURES AT THE MOUNT

CRUX (Challenging Recreation. Unleashing Experience.), the Mount's new outdoor adventures program, provides an extensive range of opportunities for you to explore the Mount's unique and picturesque setting among the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains … and beyond. World class whitewater, pristine wilderness, meandering streams, breathtaking vistas, expansive trail networks and magnificent cliffs are all nearby ready to enjoy and appreciate.

CRUX comprises four areas: a wilderness tripping program, teambuilding services, a resource center (The Underground) and a leadership development program. Whether you're interested in exploring the muddy depths of the earth, scaling a sheer rock face, bounding down turbulent rapids or even discovering yourself, you can do it with CRUX. Explore the local surroundings on a weekend “Excursion” or explore the country and even the globe on a weeklong “Expedition.” See below for details on upcoming Excursions and Expeditions.

Register or get details for CRUX programs at The Underground, located under the Terrace. Or contact Ken McVearry , director of outdoor adventures, at 301-447-7437 / mcvearry@msmary.edu .
