According to federal law, specifically The Student Right to Know and Campus Security Act of 1990 (renamed the Clery Act), the Public Safety Department is required to report statistics concerning the occurrence of the following criminal offenses reported to a local police agency or any official of the institution who has “significant responsibility for student and campus activities”.
The criminal offenses that we are required to report are murder/non-negligent manslaughter, negligent manslaughter, sex offenses (forcible and non-forcible), robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, motor vehicle theft, arson, liquor law violations, drug violations and/or illegal weapons possession. We are required to report offenses that occur on campus, in residence facilities, in non-campus property, on public property adjacent to the campus, or at a college sponsored trip, activity or event.
Below are Crime Statistics Report Form and a Sexual Assault Report Form that should be used to report the incidents described above. Return the Criminal Statistics Report Form to Tom Kiniry in Public Safety. Return the completed Sexual Offense Report Form to Meg McKeon, the Director of the Wellness Center.
Thank you for your assistance in complying with this federal law. If you have any questions about this request or you would like to discuss the specifics about an incident, please contact Tom Kiniry at 5642 (e-mail - tkiniry@msmary.edu or Meg McKeon at 5288 (e-mail mckeon@msmary.edu.)
