In the event of an accident, this benefit becomes effective on the first day of disability. The duration of this coverage is up to 26 weeks.

Long Term Disability
After one year of employment, the College will contribute to a Long Term Disability Plan. This plan becomes effective after Short-Term Disability benefit is utilized. The plan will pay an amount equal to 60 per cent of salary up to a maximum of $6,000 per month in the event an employee is disabled and is under a doctor's care.

Medical Plan
CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is the insurance carrier, providing a Preferred Provider Network (PPN) plan to the Mount employees. (PPN) plan would not require a Primary Care Physician or a referral to visit a specialist. The College would contribute 75% of the premium for all levels of coverage. The employee would be responsible for only 25% of the premium, which would be a pre-tax payroll deduction. If care is received from a participating provider within the network, the employee would be responsible for an office co-pay and 20% of the fee for most of the medical services. The remaining cost will be the responsibility of the insurance carrier. Receiving care from outside of the providers’ network would trigger a deductible requirement before BCBS would compensate for 60% of allowable benefits. The employee would be accountable for the remaining medical cost.
