Special Services for Education Students

The Media Center, located in the Knott Academic Center, is a support system utilized by all education students in conjunction with their field experiences and teacher internship.

The Education Computer Lab, located in the Knott Academic Center, is designated primarily for teacher education majors. Students have the opportunity to preview and evaluate software as well as to incorporate computer technology in all phases of teaching and learning.

Printing Privileges, each student is given a $20 printing allowance at the beginning of each semester for use in the computer labs. Black and white copies are 5 cents each, color copies are 50 cents each. Contact Cindy Harbaugh in the MountCard office at 301-447-5248 or charbaug@msmary.edu if you have questions or need to add additional money to your printing account.

The Mount's Phillips Library is fully available to M.Ed. and MAT students. The hours are expected to be:

Hours

Monday-Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 12 Midnight
Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Sunday: 12 Noon - 12 Midnight

A selection of children’s literature and professional resources for use in lesson and unit planning is available on the lower level of the Phillips Library. These items were formerly housed in the Curriculum Library.
Please be aware that the following services are available.

1. Research Librarians: Research librarians are available to assist your work. Appointments are recommended: (301) 447-5244.

2. Computer Searches: Computer-based bibliographic searches can be conducted in the Phillips Library. Appointments are encouraged with Dr. Steve Rockwood or Mr. Bruce Yelovich, who can be reached at (301) 447-5244.

Fees are assessed and vary depending on the searches.
