Mount St. Mary’s University recognizes those graduating students who are members of Pi Lambda Theta at the Spring Honors Ceremony and graduation activities. Pi Lambda Theta is an international educators’ honors association that promotes scholarship and leadership in the field of education. The university’s chapter, Gamma Tau, holds an initiation ceremony once each spring semester. Nomination for initiation is usually made by current members, but self-nominations and nominations from nonmembers are accepted. To be nominated, a candidate must have a GPA of at least 3.5 and have professional leadership qualities. Pamphlets containing more information can be found on the wall outside the Education Department Office near the glass-enclosed PLT information center. Nominations are considered each December.
Congratulations to the newest members: we are proud of your achievement!
