In fact, employers of our departments graduates often comment on how well prepared Mount students are because of their special understanding of ethics, social justice and cultural diversity.
Our department of business, accounting and economics is well known for its commitment to producing successful business leaders. Thats because our teachers know their business. Not many small colleges can match our faculty, who come from some of the finest universities in the nation and have a great deal of practical experience actually doing the things they teach. Most business faculty also teach in our MBA program, where they instructand learn fromprofessionals with significant organizational experience. All go beyond textbook answers to offer real-world examples and solutions.
- Economics students regularly participate in the Federal Reserve Challenge, an intercollegiate monetary policy contest. The Mount was the 1999 Fed Challenge Team Champion.
- One recent senior honors project was a cost/benefit analysis of building a new residence hall on campus and increasing the undergraduate student population to 1,500. Stay tuned for results!
- Another senior honors project used advanced quantitative techniques to compare the macroeconomic efficiency of European Union countries.
