MBA Objectives
The Mount MBA program, offering accelerated evening and weekend classes, promotes professional and personal growth in a challenging yet friendly atmosphere. The College places the highest emphasis on teaching and on the value of close student-faculty relationships both in and out of the classroom. The program is designed primarily for part-time adult students who live and work in the surrounding community; however full-time study is available.

Mount St. Mary's is committed to standards of excellence in the conduct of its MBA program. The academic program consists of core courses that comprise the common body of knowledge, concentration areas, independent research, and electives.

Mount St. Mary's believes that its liberal arts tradition and management focus prepare students to assume responsible roles in society.

Program Objectives
The specific objectives of the MBA program are:

  • To provide equal educational opportunities for students regardless of religion, race, political affiliation, sex, age, national origin, or physical disabilities;
  • To provide a high quality, evening program for academically qualified professionals who live and work in the surrounding community;
  • To provide course work necessary for management growth;
  • To offer a program that assures full coverage of the generally recognized "common body of knowledge" while emphasizing the development of sound methodological skills to foster decision-making;
  • To develop critical thinking and communications skills, thereby allowing our graduates to conduct research independently and to be able to evaluate the work of others;
  • To provide students with a curriculum that raises issues of ethics in business decision-making and emphasizes the global character of contemporary enterprises;
  • To make graduate courses, non-credit courses, and lectures available to those who seek skills/knowledge without pursuing a graduate degree;
  • To contribute to the broadly defined service area through consulting and membership on corporate and civic boards, and
  • To develop an academic environment that is challenging and stimulating to graduate students and faculty.
