Academic Scholarships
All applicants for admission are considered for academic scholarships based on several criteria, includin: high school course selection, course achievement, rank in class, SAT and/or ACT results and involvement in extracurricular activities. In addition to academic scholarships, most financial aid applicants also have received aid that includes grants, work study jobs and/or student loans to further help defray the cost of attendance.
Mount Scholarships
$12,500 annual scholarship
"A" high school average with distinctive course selection, 1300 or greater SAT scores (critical reading/verbal and math), recognized leadership and involvement in school and community activities.
$11,000 annual scholarship
"B+" - "A" high school average with above average course selection, 1150 - 1300 SAT scores, recognized leadership and involvement in school and community activities.
$8,500 annual scholarship
"B+" - "A" high school average with above average course selection, 1050 - 1200 SAT scores, active leader and participant in school and community activities.
Mount Merit Grants
$7,000 annual scholarship
"B" - "B+" high school average, 1000 - 1150 SAT scores, and active participant and leader in school and community activities.
Mount Heritage Grants
$5,000 annual scholarship
"B" high school average, 950 - 1300 SAT scores, and active participant in school and community activities.
Athletic Scholarships
Mount St. Mary's competes at the NCAA Division I level in 19 men's and women's sports. All varsity teams offer athletic scholarship aid. Contact the athletic director or head coach at 301-447-5296 or go to www.mountathletics.com. for additional information on these scholarships.

Kuderer Scholarships
Three full-tuition annual scholarships are awarded to students who perform superbly during an on-campus, written examination in January. Students eligible for the scholarship competition have a 3.25 GPA or better and SAT scores of 1200 or greater on the two subscores of Critical Reading or Verbal PLUS math. Contact the Admissions Office for dates and eligibility.
Funston V. Collins and Bolivar San Martin Scholarships
Scholarships for African-American and Hispanic students ranging from $1,000-$2,000 per year. Awards are based on academic merit and are often combined with other Academic Scholarships.
Bishop's Scholarship
Bishops from selected dioceses will award $15,000 scholarships for their parishioners to attend Mount St. Mary's. The Bishop's Scholarship is funded by Mount St. Mary's University and allows selected Bishops to recognize students who have used their talents to enhance their parish, school and other communities. Catholic Educators Scholarship
Students whose parents are full-time faculty, staff, or administrators at Catholic elementary or secondary schools are eligible to receive a minimum 8,000 scholarship to attend Mount St. Mary's. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must demonstrate financial need to attend the Mount. Parents must have their employment certified annually by the school principal with the required Children of Catholic Educators Scholarship Application. Commuter Grants
Up to $7,000 annually is awarded based on financial need to students who live at home and commute to the Mount. When combined with an academic scholarship, total institutional money cannot exceed $7,000.
Family Discount Grant
Each incoming student with a brother or sister enrolled at the Mount will receive a $1,000 Family Discount Grant. This grant is renewable as long as the siblings are concurrently enrolled.
Mount Grants in Aid
Each year over 95% of the Mount St. Mary's freshman class is offered financial assistance from the university. Students and their families with demonstrated need (as calculated by the federal government) are considered for additional aid by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Mount St. Mary's Financial Aid Application.
